Sixth International Meeting in Alcorisa The meeting was supposed to begin Saturday morning but in early Friday afternoon you could tell that the inhabitants of Alcorisa were infected by the enthusiasm of the Guzzis. The lodging of the city opened the gates and welcomed the Guzzis and thus a wonderfully bright load of Guzzis started to gather in front of the gate. There was a great southern flair in the air. It is always a pleasure for us to welcome the Guzzis from England or Germany and this year it was a great honour for us to have friends and members of the club among us such as Frank and Ilonka and our delegate from Germany, Agustin Ruz Campos. The afternoon passed by and everybody said hello to each other and we had a couple of beers together. Later we had dinner which had been prepared with lots of love by the Spanish-Germanic chefs. Saturday morning there was no need for an alarm clock because the Germans got up in the crack of dawn and they made everybody else get up, too. On Saturday even more Guzzis were expected. Guzzis were arriving all morning and the number of Guzzis increased. The one and only drop of bitterness had to be taken by Antonio Brea. Shortly before lunch he had a mishap with his California III. He fell in front of the lodging door and this caused several grazes and he even had a torn ligament ( at this point we wish you to get better soon and we send you the courage and hope to see you in Zaragona on Juli 28th/29th ) Thanks to the ones who were there to help him getting in the hospital in Alcaniz immediately. A big thanks to you, Aguilucho. Because of this incident lunch was delayed but none of the Guzzis complained about it thank you guys! Lunch went by talking to each other in a really nice atmosphere. In the end we had coffee and aperitifs which was donated by the E.M.G.C. The afternoon was hot and many people tried to quench their thirst having cold beers in one of the bars in town. There, a lot of locals watched the spectacle of the different Guzzis. The hight of the show was a bike convoy through the city of Alcorisa. The never ending sound of the two cylinders and the loud horns were roaring until the bikes arrived at the lodging door where the club welcomed everybody with refreshing drinks. Dinner went quite normally and even our "wounded man" was among us. He stayed in the hall until they started handing over the prices around coffee time. The winners were: PRICE FOR THE NEWEST BIKE: Disiderio Cubillana, "The Vice" with his California EV, licensed on March 13th, 2001-07-18 PRICE FOR THE OLDEST GUZZI: Fidenci Veciana, born in 1940 PRICE FOR THE YOUNGEST GUZZI: Hieron Estrada, born in 2001 PRICE FOR THE PARTICIPANT FROM ABROAD WHO HAD THE LONGEST TRIP: Peter Gower, England PRICE FOR THE PARTICIPANT FROM ABROAD WHO HAD THE SECOND LONGEST TRIP: Frank Hastädt, Germany PRICE FOR THE SPANISH GUZZI WHO HAD THE LONGEST TRIP: Jose Garcia, Valladolid PRICE FOR THE BEST EMBROIDERY OF THE EMBLEM OF THE E:M.G.C.: Ramon Vidiella PRICE FOR THE SECOND BEST EMBROIDERY OF THE EMBLEM OF THE E.M.G.C.: Juan Antonio del Valle L PRICE OF MISHAP: Antonio Brea PRICE FOR THE OLDEST BIKE: Agustin Ruz Campos, T 3 California PRICE FOR THE COMPANION FROM ABROAD WHO HAD THE LONGEST TRIP: Bibiana Clates, Gerona PRICE FOR THE "GUZZIPILOT" Celia Lucia Tello, V 50 III At this point we congratulate all the winners and we wish that Antonio Brea will never win such a price again! After the prices had been handed over the gifts were handed over and everybody who was present was being thought of. There were all kinds of chic stockings ( dear Fidenci brothers, we would love to know who you put them on ????? ), Playboy movies, lighters, key ring pendants, pendulum clocks, Jackets, sprays for chains, T shirts, and many more things. The night?, well, the night was planned and organised very individually. Anyway! We drank one Cuba Libre after the next ( it was soooo hot!!! ) The snoring stopped dominating the night when the first Guzzi faces started exchanging the latest chitchat from the previous night early in the morning. Sunday morning we went for a ride to the beautiful Teruels, accompanied by the Guardia Civil, who escorted us. Teruels? scenery offers one of the most gorgeous areas on earth. After we had had a break in Castellote and some refreshing beverages we started heading back to Alcorisa. Having arrived and parked our bikes the mayor of Alcorisa greeted us and we were invited out by the local community. We really enjoyed the Spanish wine which we were offered. For most of us this meal was the provision for the trip home. Well, the unavoidable happened,???.., saying good bye to each other, farewell wishes, and the grateful thanks for the great hospitality and that we met with this really warm reception of our bikes from Mandello from the locals of Alcorisa for that weekend.
